After my father became ill and needed to have a wheelchair, I insisted that he move in with my family. For him to do that, we had to buy a lot of equipment and we had to make sure our home was safe for him. One of the things that guaranteed this was having the right lifts. My father is not overweight, but lifting him from the chair to the bed and other places can be strenuous. We got a hoyer water powered bathtub lift, which has been a great help during his showering times.
I can always find the equipment we need, but I always have to be aware how much things will cost. Overall, I think we have done a good job of making sure my father is well taken care of, and that he is comfortable in the house.
